About

I’m Pedro Peterle, a software engineer from Vitória, Espírito Santo, Brazil, and I’ve been programming since 2018. I design systems that need to scale and keep working under load. Over the years I’ve moved between hands-on technical work and engineering leadership, and that shaped how I approach complex systems, both the code and the organization around it.

My main interests are distributed systems, architecture decisions and analytics architecture, meaning the data platforms that take large streams of real-time and historical data and turn them into information a team can rely on. Most of my work happens in high-throughput domains, where reliability and clear thinking are essential.

I use this blog to document what I’m working on so I can look back and see how far I’ve come. Alongside the technical posts I also write about philosophy, religion and other topics that interest me.

Experience

CTO at Clav

December 2025 to present

Software Engineer at Woovi

July 2025 to present · São Paulo

I build and operate high-throughput payment and analytics infrastructure for a real-time financial platform.

  • Designed and evolved the architecture of high-throughput services, with a focus on scalability, resilience and clear service boundaries.
  • Designed and built a new high-scale webhooks architecture for reliable, ordered event delivery to clients.
  • Implemented Pix Automático (recurring Pix payments), integrating with the Central Bank of Brazil flows.
  • Implemented handling and processing of ISO 20022 messages for the integration with the Central Bank (Bacen).
  • Built and ran workloads on a self-managed Kubernetes environment, owning deployment, scaling and reliability of critical services.
  • Developed Node.js backend services for real-time payment and data flows, prioritizing correctness and performance under load.
  • Designed the real-time analytics platform, with Apache Flink for stream processing and enrichment and Apache Pinot for low-latency OLAP, so engineering and business teams get reliable analytics out of high-volume event streams.
  • Led system design decisions across distributed services, weighing the trade-offs between consistency, latency and cost.

Full Stack Developer at Datawer

November 2024 to July 2025

I was assigned to the client Priner to build a proprietary platform. Part of the job was breaking work into tasks and guiding the team through it, and part was shipping features on the backend (Node.js with NestJS) and on the frontend (Next.js) while keeping the system fast and reliable. I was also responsible for the app used by field professionals, which had to work fully offline and sync later.

Full Stack Developer at Digisystem

October 2022 to October 2024

I worked for the client Alelo (Grupo Elopar) on the development and maintenance of the prepaid card projects. The frontend used React and Next.js with TypeScript, with Redux and React Query for state and caching. The backend ran on Node.js with Express and on Java with Spring.

I also handled the adaptation to the company’s new security policies, working with the security team to fix vulnerabilities using Veracode and Sonar. Everything ran on Azure, where I set up the CI/CD pipelines deploying with Kubernetes and Docker.

Frontend Developer at AEVO

March 2022 to October 2022 · Vitória

I built interactive dashboards with Angular and TypeScript, with real-time updates over WebSockets and unit tests in Jest. I also maintained the Flutter app to improve its user experience compared to the web version. The team ran Scrum, and I worked with POs, QAs, tech leads and other backend and frontend developers.

Full Stack Developer at Switch App

February 2020 to October 2021 · Vitória

I developed and launched the startup’s first versions across backend, frontend and mobile, talking directly with clients about improvements and bug fixes. The backend was Node.js with Express, the admin panel was React, and the apps for professionals and clients were built in Flutter and published on the Play Store and the App Store.

Full Stack Developer at Alterrnativa Software

January 2019 to July 2019 · Vitória

I helped the team build a new startup: Flutter apps for Android and iOS backed by Firebase for data storage, plus an admin dashboard in Angular.
